Thank You to the Massachusetts Developmental Disabilities Network For This Newly Published Resource on Creating Inclusive Playspaces. Check it Out!

A new ICI publication offers an in-depth guide to creating playgrounds and other community spaces that are accessible to all children, including those with disabilities. Helena Liedtke, the 2015-2016 Crocker Fellow at the ICI, wrote and designed the guide.

“It’s not the quantity or the price tags of objects that create inclusive, happy, and socially healthy and wealthy, empathetic, and supportive communities,” Liedtke explains in the guide. “Instead, it’s the passion and willingness of each individual to embrace diversity and to see the potential it holds for himself and the greater good.”

The Allen C. Crocker Family Fellowship, co-sponsored by the Massachusetts Developmental Disabilities Network, provides funding for a family member of a person with disabilities to work on a project of their choosing.
